PRESSing forward (bad pun)

I've got some media coverage, via the local Brisbane newspapers and I have recieved an email from Amnesty International, who are interested in my trip. The plan is pressing ahead full steam. If anyone has any questions etc; feel free to leave comments on the site.

Enjoy your voyage mate, don't forget to indulge in those FREE beverages on the flight over!

The official date for my trip to the motherland is August 28th, so if I am to be selected I will definately have to catch up with you for a stein and a pretzel!

In the mean-time, looking forward to meetin up for your farewell brewski!

Heya Kyle,
I like the artical, shame abut that helmet!! ;)
In the artical you refer to the people that just don't "get it", i found this quote a while ago and it goes a long way to helping people "get it", hope you like it.
All the very best, i'll keep up with the blog and totally wish i was there.

To be truly challenging, a voyage, like a life, must rest on a firm foundation of financial unrest... "I've always wanted to sail to the South Seas, but I can't afford it." What these men can't afford is not to go. They are emmeshed in the cancerous discipline of security. And in the worship of security we fling our lives beneath the wheels of routine. And before we know it our lives are gone.

What does a man need, really need? A few pounds of food each day, heat and shelter, six feet to lie down in -- and some form of working activity that will yield a sense of accomplishment. That's all, in a material sense, and we know it. But we are brainwashed by our economic system until we end up in a tomb beneath a pyramid of time payments, mortgages, preposterous gadgetry, playthings that divert our attention from the sheer idiocy of the charade.

The years thunder by. The dreams of youth grow dim where they lie caked in dust on the shelves of patience. Before we know it, the tomb is sealed.

Where, then, lies the answer? In choice. Which shall it be: bankruptcy of purse or bankruptcy of life?

-- Sterling Hayden, Voyage, 1976

...........also great!!! ( i have this on the wall in garage, near the parked touring bike)

"Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn't do than
by the ones you did do. So throw off the bowlines, sail away from the safe harbor.
Catch the trade winds in your sails. Explore. Dream. Discover." -- Mark Twain
